Here are the first 5 of 10 exciting trends that we expect to be seeing a lot of in 2018.
1. Small Weddings
Instead of inviting every person you've ever crossed paths with in your lifetime, plus relatives you've only heard about but never met, couples will instead be hosting weddings for just their nearest and dearest. There are many benefits to hosting a smaller gathering, and our small wedding venue near Knoxville is the perfect place for up to 100 guests to share your very special day with.
2. "Woodsy" Themes
Some are saying that "woodsy" is the new "rustic." It's a similar idea with a lot more wooden items incorporated into the wedding decor. Slabs of wood can be used in many decorative ways, such as table numbers, signs, seating cards, chargers, cake stands, and so much more. You can even use the look and pattern of wood on your invitations, menus, and programs. This theme fits in beautifully with the charming look that Country Jewell already exudes.
3. Texture
Lots of different textures can add a wonderful visual appeal to your celebration. The wooden items mentioned above have a fantastic texture to them already. You can also use wax seals on invitations and menus to give them a cool look and feel. Play around with table linens too. Possibly layer a lace runner over a shimmery tablecloth, or pair bold stripes mixed with a bit of burlap and lace. The tables don't all need to match either. You may want to experiment with 2 or three different reception tabletops all in one space.
4. Ultra Violet
Pantone has become the authority on popular colors, and they annually choose a color of the year. 2017 was all about Greenery, and 2018 is going to be the year of Ultra Violet. According to Pantone, it's "a dramatically provocative and thoughtful purple shade that communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking..." If purple is a color you are considering using for your wedding, this may be a wonderful shade for you. It can also be beautiful to use as an accent color.
5. Metallics
Metallics will once again be a popular tone to use for wedding decor. Rose golds were seen a lot this year, and next year lots of silver, chrome, and copper is expected to make an appearance. Metallics offer a nice, shiny, eye-catching pop that works well with most color schemes. These also reflect candlelight beautifully for a warm, romantic glow.
