Country Jewell is the perfect venue for your rustic themed wedding!

The Wonderful Rustic Decorations

Wildflowers that burst with vibrant colors and mason jars hanging from trees are simple yet beautiful wedding pieces that can tie your rustic wedding in with the nature that surrounds it. Guests can be seated at long tables draped with clean, burlap tablecloths accented with white runners and vintage dinner plates. Burlap is a must have for a rustic theme and can be incorporated into a rustic wedding with an aisle runner, chair ribbons, table decorations, and wrapping for bouquets and boutonnieres. Sporadically place lace doilies, chalkboard signs, and wooden furniture, and add a rustic photo booth for guests to take pictures.

Our chapel and barn themed event center are perfect for a rustic or country themed wedding!

Rustic Weddings are Relatively Inexpensive

A rustic theme is an inexpensive way to host a beautiful wedding that uses elements and decorations straight from nature. Not only are rustic weddings easy on your budget and earth friendly, they’re very picturesque. The rustic wedding setting does not demand a lavish budget and the outdoor setting is the easiest way to really get that rustic feel.

Simplicity in Nature

Using nature as your inspiration and the cozy and comfortable ambiance of the mountains is sometimes all you need for the perfect rustic wedding. The idea is to incorporate nature and all its beauty into your special day. The beauty of the fundamental nature of a rustic wedding is that simple touches can really express you and your fiancĂ©’s unique personalities. Nestled at the foot of the Great Smoky Mountains, Country Jewell’s country charm, peaceful setting, and beautiful views of the foothills offer a perfect venue for your rustic wedding.  The scenic landscapes and vintage facilities will also delight your guests!

5 Wedding Favors Your Guests Will Love

Wedding favors aren't a necessity, but they are a nice extra touch to have for all of your Country Jewell wedding guests. The key to an incredible favor is offering something enjoyable that won't get left on the table after everyone leaves. We've listed five of our favorites that look wonderful on the tables at our rustic wedding venue near Knoxville

Food

A sure way to get your wedding guests to take the favors you give away is to give them something edible. A delicious treat is just too hard to resist! An individual serving can be a part of each place setting, or you can put them all on a table together with a charming "Love is Sweet" banner. Small jars of honey with the tag "Thanks for 'bee-ing' here with us!" is adorable. A bag full of Hershey's Kisses and a "Hugs & Kisses from the Mr. & Mrs." label is a classic. One couple even gave away soft pretzels in a bag stating, "Thanks for helping us tie the knot!"

Glasses
Your guests have to drink out of something, and if you give each of them their own special glass to drink out of, they'll be sure to keep an eye on it all night. If you like the mismatched look, you can hit the thrift stores before the wedding and find unique glasses for under a dollar a piece. Another option is to paint a chalkboard label on mason jars and let everyone write their name on their glass. There are also lots of places where you can buy personalized stadium cups with your wedding details and a cute saying like "Eat, drink, & be married!" printed on them.

Frames

Frames are perfect for using as place cards with guests' names written on them, and then they double as a wonderful favor that can be taken home and filled with a special photo. While many wedding favors are personalized with the couple's wedding details, in this case, the guest can personalize it later with a memory of their own.

Local Souvenirs

This is especially nice if you are having a destination wedding. Find something that the the town is "known for" so that your guests can take a little piece of the nostalgia home with them. Cherry Coke (the packaged variety of this soda fountain favorite) was introduced at the Knoxville World's Fair. Little Debbie Snacks are headquartered in Tennessee. This state is also well-known for the incredible music that comes from it, so a CD full of catchy tunes can be enjoyed by all of your guests on the way home and long after.

Plants

Another double-duty favor is a pretty potted plant. These can be used for the reception table decor with a note for the guests to pick one to take home with them after the wedding. It doesn't have to be a grown plant to be a great favor. Seed packets are nice for guests to take home, plant, and "watch your love grow!"

These five wedding favor ideas will hopefully inspire you to come up with something your guests will treasure both during and after your special day. They are great mementos for everyone to remember your beautiful ceremony at our scenic wedding venue near Knoxville, plus they help to give your Country Jewell wedding that little extra something special.

Our Top 10 "Must Have" Wedding Photos

Photography is a very important part of your wedding day. A great photographer knows how to capture all of the important moments of your rustic wedding near Knoxville, but a little preparation on your part will help to guarantee that you get the memories that you most want.

Country Jewell has come up with our own top ten list of wedding photos that we think are great to put on your list of "must-have-shots." They may not all be for everyone, but each of these really do make a wonderfully captured memory.

Important Details
In addition to the many pictures of people in your wedding, the fashion and decoration details are important too. Let your photographer know if there are any special ones that you particularly want to have pictures of, such as an heirloom piece of jewelry or a special passage written in the program. They will already be taking care of the noticeable details, but you will need to point out the sentimental ones to them so they aren't overlooked.

Venue Highlights
You had a very good reason for choosing Country Jewell for your wedding. It may have been the cascading stream, the scenic view and gorgeous landscaping, or the beautiful stained glass in the rustic wedding chapel. Possibly there is a special spot where the two of you met at another wedding you attended. Whatever the reason was that drew you to our rustic wedding venue near Knoxville, make sure that you highlight it in a few photos.

Fun With Your Wedding Party
Once the serious photos are finished with all of the groomsmen and bridesmaids, let loose and get a little goofy. The silly shots often end up being some of the favorites.

The First Look
That special moment when the bride and groom see each other all dressed up for the first time is simply magical. Whether you make plans to have this moment in private before the ceremony or wait until the bride is walking down the aisle, let the photographer know that the looks on each of your faces definitely need to be captured.

The Secret Encounter
For those that decide to skip the first look, or possibly right before a first look, we love the photos of "stolen moments." You can hold each others hands from opposite sides of a door or around a corner, making contact, but not seeing each other quite yet!

Candid Reception Shots
Much like the fun photos that you took with your wedding party, but less planned out. Having a photographer that sticks around after the reception gets going allows them to capture the "real" moments of you and your guests simply enjoying each other and having a good time. Make sure that your photographer is aware of the guests you definitely want a few extra shots of.

Special "Surprise" Moments
If you have something special to surprise your guests at either the ceremony or reception, coordinate it with your photographer. They are the people that you don't want to surprise! You'll want to make sure they are in place when the time comes and not busy at another area of the wedding preoccupied with another photo opportunity.

Large Group Photo
We're not talking about photographs of the entire wedding party or the big family pictures. Taken at the right angle, your photographer should be able to get all of your guests together in one amazing group shot.

The Silhouette
It may take a little patience from you while your photographer gets the lighting right, but the breathtaking photo that comes out of it makes it worth the wait.

A Swoon-Worthy Kiss
Sometimes your first kiss, in front of all of your wedding guests, can be a bit awkward, plus it's not always easy to get the best angle with a camera. Once the ceremony is over and you're relaxed, plan a special kiss for the photographer to capture without all the pressure of a crowd watching. It could call for a few takes, but kissing your new spouse over and over won't be so bad!

All of the pictures from your scenic wedding near Knoxville will be beautiful treasures to remind you of this amazing day for years to come. With a little bit of planning, you can guarantee that you get all of the photos you want, plus a few extras that will wow anyone that sees them.

As long as you provide your photographer with a detailed timeline of wedding day events and a list of desired photos before the wedding, everything should go smoothly. When you get those gorgeous shots back, we'd love it if you'd share a few of them with us here at Country Jewell

Great Reasons To Renew Your Wedding Vows

A wonderful way to celebrate your marriage is with a vow renewal at our rustic wedding venue near Knoxville. Some people may think that this is an unnecessary extravagance, but all of us at Country Jewell completely disagree. There are many reasons that saying "I do... again!" is an excellent way to keep love alive and your marriage as happy as day one.

Once you are a few years into a marriage, life can get hectic and it may never seem like you have enough time for regular daily activities, much less throwing another wedding! Just in case you or your spouse needs to be convinced that a vow renewal is worth your time, here are a few reasons to go ahead and do it.

A Landmark Anniversary
Generally, vow renewals happen on a landmark anniversary, such as the 10th, 25th, or the 50th. While that is a great excuse, you don't really have to wait for one of the "big ones." There are really no rules when it comes to renewing your vows. Some people even choose to do it every single year!

You Deserve A Do-Over
Young couples don't always have the money to throw the wedding of their dreams. Once you are older and financially capable, renewing your vows is a great way to throw yourself that wedding you really wanted the first time around. Also, if something disastrous happened at your original ceremony or reception, this "do-over" allows you to give it another, more successful try.

It's Easier The 2nd Time Around
Most brides and grooms have at least a few nervous feelings set in before they walk down the aisle. With a vow renewal, you shouldn't have to worry about that at all because you are already legally married. This is just another way to say "I love you" to the person that you say it to every day anyway.

Also, the fact that you are already married, anyone can officiate, which means you don't have to search for an officiant or apply for a marriage license. Gift registries aren't necessary, and many couples choose to not have attendants this time around. (Asking your original maid of honor and best man to stand up with you could be fun though!)

New People To Share It With
A vow renewal a few years into your marriage lets you share this ceremony with your children. Not only is it nice for your kids to see their parents pledge their love to each other, they can also be a part of the ceremony this time. Children can step in as your wedding party, or you can even have them walk you down the aisle.

A Fresh Start
For couples that have just finished dealing with a big, life-changing issue, like a major illness, a wedding vow renewal is a happy occasion to bring love, laughter, and happiness back to a family that has just been through a lot of stress and heartache. It gives everyone a reason to celebrate and enjoy life.

Just Because...
The best reason to renew your wedding vows is because it's the perfect way to remind yourself, as well as your spouse, why you married them in the first place. The "magic" of love can get hidden over time when you are always busy with everyday life. Officially pledging your love to each other again can bring that wonderful feeling back to the top of your mind, and hearts, where it belongs!

Vow Renewals At Country Jewell
The relaxing atmosphere at our scenic event venue near Knoxville is the perfect place to renew your wedding vows. There is a lovely gazebo outdoors amidst breathtaking views and gorgeous landscaping, or you can say "I do" once again in our charming wedding chapel.

If you choose to also have a reception after the vows (because you deserve to celebrate!) our rustic special event barn has everything you need to entertain your guests, including a kitchen and serving area where you can provide your own catering, or we an arrange to have that done for you.

"Me and my husband had a vow renewal wedding for our 20th anniversary. We had never had a wedding so we wanted to go all out. I chose Country Jewell because of the country setting and the fact that it took a lot of stress off of me. I paid one affordable price and they took care of the majority of things for me. All the things I normally would have had to set up myself were already done. I still had a choice in food, cake, and music. I did bring some things in my colors to add to decorations. Everything turned out absolutely wonderful. We had a great time and a lot of my guest's told me it was the funnest wedding they had ever attended."
-Donna, Wedding Wire review

If one of the reasons above has inspired you and your spouse, consider Country Jewell as the perfect backdrop for your wedding vow renewal. We will help you to make this time around even more special than the first time.
